I tore it about a month ago less than ½ mile into a hike and had to hobble back to my car. It felt a tad tight that morning, but I ignored my body’s whispering warning to go easy.

I rested and thought it had healed, but again I ignored the little whispers my body gave me and did something I shouldn’t have.

And then again.

It seems that box jumps, jump roping and sprints are a bad idea when you have a pulled calf muscle.

I should know better. I do know better. Sometimes I need to keep my ego in check so that I can continue to do all the things I love to do, and not be sidelined by nagging injuries.

Fortunately I found Dr J @thesportsphysician who is not only helping me get back to 100% by removing adhesions, but by finding and addressing the underlying cause of the issue to begin with…almost no ankle mobility!

This weekend, and until my body’s whispers tell me to go ahead, I’m taking it easy and doing lower impact movement, including strolling the farmer’s market with a friend and a trip to the beach with my best friend Maple.
