Sometimes you just gotta wear reminders of your awesome badassery as a woman.

To be honest, I’ve never really been a TV watcher. Sitting there makes me feel antsy and it has always been tough to sit through an entire episode of anything (even, I’ll admit, as an adult. 🤷🏻‍♀️).

But as a little girl, I was always drawn to shows with strong female characters (both in body and in mind). Growing up as the underdog among my peer group—coming from really tough family dynamics and poverty and being the undernourished, dirty, and pathetically dressed waif—there was just something about those strong female characters that just drew me in and I was easily enraptured for the entire episode. I loved Laura Ingalls Wilder on Little House on the Prairie for her spunky freespiritedness at a time when that just wasn’t cool for girls. I felt like she was a reflection of me. And of course, Wonder Woman…for her strength, courage, quick action, and fearlessness! These characters helped to instill a belief in myself from a very young age that I could be bigger than my circumstances, that I could overcome adversity and be and do anything I wanted in life. I wanted to look like her and be like her in all her superhero badassyness. And one day I woke up and realized that in my own unique, spirited, quirky and fun-loving way, I am in fact, Wonder Woman. And you are too.

I’m still on the lookout for her earrings though. Remember those simple round red disks? Any leads would be appreciated. 😉🤷🏻‍♀️

Ladies, embrace your inner Wonder Woman and wear her loud and proud! 👊🏼⭐️💪🏼
